Punjab Approves First-Ever Sky Glass Bridge Project in Murree
The Government of Punjab has approved its first-ever sky glass bridge project in Kotli Sattian, located in the Murree district, marking a significant step toward enhancing tourism infrastructure in the region.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting jointly presided over by Maryam Nawaz and Nawaz Sharif, where officials reviewed progress on the Murree Protection and Rehabilitation Plan.
As part of the broader tourism development strategy, the meeting also approved the establishment of three hospitality zones in Shawala, Sozo, and Brewery areas of Murree. These zones will feature five-star standard hotels developed in collaboration with the private sector to boost high-end tourism.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed authorities to initiate construction of the Murree Glass Train project within one month, signaling urgency in executing key tourism projects. Additionally, plans for three new parks at Angoori Road, MIT Park, and Ariari Park in Kotli Sattian were presented and approved.
The meeting was further briefed on the development of facilities at Bansera Gali, including a zoological garden, eco-zone, bridge crossing, and a conference facility. Wildlife conservation initiatives such as a bear house, tiger house, and bird aviary are also part of the plan.
Officials highlighted that Murree’s first glamping pod village will be established at Chewra Hill, offering a unique tourist experience. The project will be operated through private sector collaboration. In addition, the establishment of a paragliding club in Chewra was approved, while progress on the Kotli Sattian chairlift project, Punjab House, and Forest Rest House was also reviewed.
These initiatives are expected to transform Murree and its surrounding areas into a modern tourism hub, attracting both domestic and international visitors.
